Cambridge, UK, March 31, 2000 - Kaspersky Lab Int., a fast growing international anti-virus software development company, announces the release of its flagship anti-virus product AntiViral Toolkit Pro (AVP) for firewall security software.
AVP for Firewalls is an anti-virus filtering module, which provides reliable centralised virus protection of corporate networks at Internet and other network entry points. It allows real-time (on-the-fly) detection and removal of all types of malicious code (including computer viruses, Internet worms, Trojan horses, dangerous ActiveX and Java applets etc.) from files and other objects being loaded into a corporate network through firewall using HTTP, FTP, SMTP and other transfer protocols.
AVP for Firewalls is fully compliant with CVP (Content Vectoring Protocol) firewalls, plus CheckPoint FireWall-1, Gauntlet Firewall, AltaVista Firewall, SecureIT Firewall and others.
AVP for Firewalls is based on the well-known AVP anti-virus engine, which has been consistently rated the best in the world and licensed by a large number of anti-virus companies for use with their anti-virus products. Alongside the main parameters of the AVP engine, such as virus detection inside archived and compressed objects as well as e-mail databases, powerful heuristic analyser to combat unknown viruses and unique redundant scan option.
AVP for Firewalls also features:
- Dynamic options reconfiguring, which requires no firewall reboot.
- Quarantine option for isolating infected and suspicious objects
- Flexible option for generating and distribution of reports.
The software also includes a powerful management utility - AVP Control Centre, which provides system administrators with an easy method of configuring, scheduled updating and maintenance of AVP for Firewalls. AVP for Firewalls can also be integrated with AVP Network Control Centre, which allows control of the virus protection of a corporate network from a remote console. AVP for Firewalls comes with the round-the-clock technical support by phone and e-mail from English speaking operators at Kaspersky Lab. The software provides customers with a low overall cost, the cost for 1 year subscription includes free engine upgrades, free cumulative, weekly and emergency updates and even our new innovative service - daily updates of the AVP anti-virus database.
"We are very proud to present our users with this new version of AntiViral Toolkit Pro. We strongly believe that users will appreciate the new opportunities AVP for Firewalls can provide them in protecting their computers from viruses," - stated Michael Kalinichenko, Technical director at Kaspersky Lab, - "Nowadays firewall software is the most secure way for protecting a corporate network against intrusions from outside primarily hacker attacks via the Internet.
Thanks to AVP for Firewalls, companies that use firewalls can significantly extend the functionality of their computer security systems by giving them a centralised protection against any type of malicious code."
